Self-Watering Herbs is a packaging concept for ready grown herbs that are sold in supermarkets. It's common when we buy herbs that we forget to water them and they die before being completely used. The packaging in this case has a second function as a self-watering system for the plant. A piece of jute twine connects the plant to the reservoir of water and this keeps the soil damp. The plant takes the water it needs and the moisture is replenished from the reservoir. All the consumer needs to do is keep the reservoir topped up.
